Sometime new members introduce themselves in a "visitors message" when they join the forum. Problem with this is that unless members are looking at the newbie's profile they will never see the newbie's intro. This could discourage new members as it would seem to them that their intro was ignored.
Is there any way to correct this problem?

Where is " Visitor Message" I do not see that on my screen. I would check it now and then too.

If you open your profile you find a place where you are asked to "write something". If you do, it creates a visitors msg

I'm not familiar with this forum software but in my software for the forum (SMF) we had a lot of flexibility for administrators to make numerous "mods" to how things are handled. Maybe your answer is with the administrator access to change things, Bill?

I used the Welcome Members subforum and did receive a few responses as have many other newcomers. Perhaps that subforum should be elevated?

My impression is that many new members have been lurking on the site for some time before deciding to join. Their impetus to join may be an urge to participate in a discussion or respond to a question, or share a photo. If motivated, they'll figure it out.

I try to look through the Members List for new people frequently. Sometimes I find a spammer and ban him/her. When I find a new person posting a visitor message in his/her own profile, I comment on it (or send them a private message) suggesting that they re-p_ost in the Welcome Members or other forum (I give them a link...) as almost no one looks at someone else's visitor message area.

Also been alerting the newbies for a couple yrs. That is why I raised the subject.
