Not sure your exact route, but you might check locations for Woodcraft stores? Used to be one in Louisville and might be one in Nashville. Also, Steve Brown puts on the Renegade Woodcarvers Rendezvous in Lebanon, TN in October and in March. Even if you don't sign up for a class, you could drop by. All the instructors have rough outs for sell, Allen Goodman may be there sharpening and selling his knives, Rich Smithson of Helvie Knives usually has a table of his tools. Thanks, mpounders. I think I'll pass on Woodcraft stores...they don't thrill me much and I have a local location. I'm hoping to find small businesses, local craftspeople, and the like to visit. Some good suggestions here. Keep them coming!
