Maybe 2" snow in the night on top of 6-8" in the yard. Temp in the mid 20F's.

Ironically, today I will be repairing broken waist-band buttons on jeans for both of us.
I wonder how and why that has become necessary?
Wish me luck. 8-32 nuts and bolts might work better.

Don't forget to wear a thimble... sure saves the fingers when sewing through denim.

All in all, turning into a sunny winter day! Gotta get out there.

Thanks, but these things are the 2-piece rivet units. I just need to keep all of my thumbs out of the way!

Denim = local guy restores furniture. I think his sewing machine can do leather! He did up a heavy canvas
carving apron for me = I got hit in the chest too many times with PacNW crooked knives. Cut a few good shirts.
The canvas is red. There are now many pink scrapes all over the chest area.

Yes you're right Brian. Denium Jean buttons ARE usually riveted in.
Best off using those furniture guys. Speaking of those furniture guys , they seem to have dibs in just about everything. I think I need some furniture guys . Lol

This guy is ultra cool. Our western red cedar comes in all sorts of shades of color from deep chocolate to blonde white.
He used to construct 16 x 20 pictures using cedar fragments until the dust got to him.

Now he does magnificent restorations to old furniture (and sews up all sorts of heavy duty stuff that the village seamstress can't handle.)
Yeh, we have one. You drop off your clothing with instructions and Anna fixes everything except the really heavy fabrics that Glenn will do.

They've probably got an awesome serger. They are heavy duty sewing machines for stuff like canvas, leather , fur , denim etc.,They are the machines that make tents , coats, sleeping bags, etc
I use one and they make a world of difference

-10C no wind here looks like a mostly sunny day -5C top. That's a wonderful winter day.
We got maybe 2" new sitting in the trees from last night.

My D1 does some clothing design, she runs a 4-needle serger.
The upholstery guy, Glenn, has a single needle machine that can't be doing more than 2 stitches per second.
After I explained what the bib-apron was for, he decided that all the pockets should be on the backside so they
don't collect dust/chips/shavings. Best piece of safety equipment that I wear, daily.

So, you wear puddlers a fair bit I take it? More dry up here where we are, but I bet it's quite a bit whiter!

We just went through 24 hours of torrential rain and gale force winds, and now it's thick fog and +8c ......very weird weather for Nova Scotia in late January. Should be up to our butts in snow by this time of year

                                Hi Steev
I live about four hour drive from Soggy(Wayne), he is on the south west coast and I am in the center of Nova Scotia. we got the coating of ice but now damage here, then it got milder and more windy through the night with the heavy rain and temperature up to 8 C today. I would guess there are places in the province that had damage
