      Hi Sappsy
I think the wife has ruined her sense of smell by sniffing too many perfume samples at Sears and doesn't know a good odor like fresh cut cedar LOL

Bruce this is a smell issue .....no allergy right? I would never give up a hobby although for no one...... What may work although is ....the minute your done carving take a bath and wash your hair in good strong scented soap. Keep your carving clothes away from hers and wash separate and change clothes when you are done carving. And tell her out right stay away from me until I bath. Lock the shed it is a man cave ....., . If that does not work send her to the doctor...something is wrong. People who suddenly have issues with smells....are either sick, pregnant, or going through the change of life.....why am I saying that is because it has happen to me.....a smell that suddenly bothers me....I have had one of the three. What ever you do ....do not catch the house on fire!

                Thanks Dileon
,| have cleaned up the shop with the vacuum , I was resawing the cedar with the bandsaw yesterday, had an excessive amount of fresh sawdust, I use my home built dust collector when using rotary tools, which is very rarely. I have a foredom SR that hasn't been turned on in over a year. I will just have get a space suit to wear in the shop change clothes when go back to the house.

                  Hi SW
I am lucky the my darling wife doesn't have alergy problems just a sense of smell problem. I am going to take a little more time to clean up the shop and vacuum off my clothes when I come back to house and see if that makes a difference for her
                  Have a fun day

I have clothes that are used for carving only and outside work. Really heavy pair of jeans and a T shirts suited for the weather and jackets. To stop bringing wood chips into the house....if I have lots of saw dust .....I change into my evening clothes outside,... so I do not bring in a bunch of dust. As I was getting tired of the extra clean up....inside the house. For
example in the house take off the clothes to bath and there is saw dust and chips all over the floor....then they get dragged around the house, more clean up to do. I also have a wash cloth that I wipe off my face and neck and other exposed areas...... no wood chips in the hair .... I use various kinds of hats and those motor cycle scarves. I know this keeps most dust and ect....out of the main house. I do not have to wear a space suit. LOL

                              Hi Dileon
I usually have a good clean up in the shop, my grand son Sean(8years old) usually comes for supper every Wednesday,he is a vacuum cleaner expert, can take them apart and put them back together without help from me, he loves to clean my shop for me, unfortunately he hasn't been here for a couple of weeks so the saw dust and wood chips have been piling up, he will be here tomorrow, so i will have a clean space again,I guess i will have get into my winter routine of wearing a shop coat, and use the airc ompressor to blow the dust off my clothes before I go to the house. I have been painting the carvings I have ready today, no smell once they are sealed with polu varnish
