  • Spring in the Ozarks

Sunnie kept sending pictures of flowers blooming in the Ozarks while Diana and I were in Texas. Spring was running early and we were going to miss it. Woodcarving in Texas or Spring in the Mountains? Woodcarving wins everytime.

Well my Frien's now and then wishes come true. We returned to Whooping Hollow and Momma Nature took pity on us. For two days!

Last night a northern storm moved through dropping tornadic winds and hail on the Ozarks. It also dropped temps. Tonight we are expecting temps down into the teens. Goodbye Spring!

The clock will be reset and we will spring into summer.

Ozarks are pretty in the spring. That weather is sliding down here Sun. But not near as cooled when it gets to us. Chance of some rain this morning, clearing and nice this afternoon. I may sneak of to the shop for a few hours. I was going to do some exterior sanding and painting today but the weather came to my rescue. Hope you all have a great day. .

Too early for Spring here in North Jersey...we're getting 3" of snow today and they're calling for over 8" more on Tuesday. Looking forward to leaving next Saturday for the Renegade Woodcarvers Roundup in Lebanon, Tennessee for a full week of wood carving! It should be nice and warm and Spring-like down there!

            Hi Bob
Hope you don't have too much snow that you miss the round up. I looked at going there, changed my mind when I checked air fare to and from Halifax Ns to Nashville Tn, couldn't justifying $5000 for fun week this year, Enjoy it and think of your fellow carvers that couldn't make it this year

Right now here in South Western Nova Scotia, it is what we call a "blinding blizzard " , the temperature is -10c = (14 f ), the wind is somewhere between 35 and 40 mph, and visibility is less than 100 yds..................... so much for an early spring...

Like Soggy, I live in an area that is braced for more snow! Another blizzard is due to arrive tomorrow, and here in the North Woods of Northern New Brunswick, we already have plenty on the ground. They are calling for 45cm/9" of snow backed by 100kmh winds, so it should make for quite a day or so. Paul, Old Buddy, your flowers are beautiful, but a long way away for us.

Wishing Spring would arrive soon, but realistically, hunkered down to weather another storm. The joys of life in Canada.
