Hello dear colleagues in USA and Canada,

Actually, I do not want to bother you, but you should see how I was treated in the German wood carving forum. I was suspended there because I disagreed with the forum operator.
If you are interested, you can read everything in the topic "other grinding paste". Unfortunately, you can not write anything about this topic anymore. The forum operator has locked this topic. He fears a neutral opinion.

The forum operator also wrote that I should only write in the US forum, there I would be better off.

I have seen too many forums have the whole set of trolls that control everything that is said ...if you disagree with their opinion they are there to jump down your throat...... in other words do as they do or get out.....so they are not a learning group but rather a gang of very closed mind thinking.. Good thing is you found out.

yes, sometimes it takes a while to recognize a person. Especially if you do not know him personally.

It is also true that you say, in the forums are many trolls around. Usually they have a leader, If you say something against the leader, the rest behaves like a pack of wolves. They jump at your throat. But there is a difference between humans and wolves, wolves become bloodthirsty to stay alive, humans do it, out of sheer malice.

I am sorry to hear that Jakob. I have been involved in several forums and it never ceases to amaze me how some people who become "in charge", takes that power to the extreme. To ban a member because of a disagreement in points of view is just childish. But, some folks just can't stand to be disagreed with.

I had a look at the messages leading up to your being barred Jakob, and I can see no reason for it. There was a disagreement in methods of sharpening and timing of how each is done, but nothing that would warrant exclusion. I feel bad that a misuse of authority has come to this, but that sort of thing is to be expected when someone sets up their own website and feels the need to completely control the discussions. Thank goodness we have a very professional group here at WCI and on the forum. Stick around and enjoy the forum.

Yes, it is an illusion that one can convince an adult person of an opinion that is not his own.

Therefore one should not break off the relations with this person. But there are also people who are very boasty, there it is better to ignore them.

Both of us, you and I, also had disagreements regarding the American President, Mr Trump. That's why I would never break off the dialogue with you. I consider you my friend, even if we do not know each other personally. The common hobby connects us.

The administrator and owner of the German Forum, is a big man. Only his opinion is the right opinion. If someone disagrees, he becomes cynical first, then he makes you look ridiculous, and finally you get banned.

That has a reason for everything. He has a shop where he sells carving tools. He makes all the tools bad that he does not sell in his shop.

Actually, the forum cares little for him. He just wants to sell his tools. For that he abuses the forum.
