Never gets terribly hot or humid where I live at 53N.
BUT, A big saucer of water full of stones will even attract the bumble bees on a warm & dry day.
After a dry week, a dish like that can be the only open water for blocks.

I have a kiddie-pool with 8" water in it for the dogs.
They never lay in it (like the dry shade) but they regularly go for a quick soak.

Relief is here. I installed my new LG window unit in the shop today. The heat index was over a 100 again today and most likely for many more days between now and Oct. I hope to get back to carving tomorrow.

Yes, my take on the Blue is the size of feature. Small. Fine netting that is layered and spun. Lots of small glass.
