well, jeez, Louise. I hope it's just a setback and not a roadblock. Keep up the crusty old fight. You got us here cheering you on.

it looks like old crusty Rusty is still ruling the roost. A good mascot.

I had issues with the last hip replacement, something has cause the hip to go totally numb and then I can not walk on it... seven doctors and surgeons later with complete different opinions as to what is wrong. It was a joke after awhile. Later I found out with severe arthritis and other bone disease it does not fix the issue the bones will continue to fall apart and the bone replacement will not work....on top of the massive law suits lately on bone replacements and the major risk... I was told no surgery unless I am 100 percent can not walk....and then it will not be a cure but another bandaid.....What I am hoping is this is old hip replacement that is sliding out of place and will slide back into its spot as sometime I can move it....if this is the issue then it is a matter of just finding a new way to do things until scar tissue heals and hold that replacement back in its place. It is the same thing with dental implants they fail...because the bone will start to break around the implant.....and there goes your 6,000 dollars down the toilet. I have a few friends with same issues....one is not as bad as me but gets one implant after another....he is in a wheel chair permanently and last replacement almost killed him.... And a mess. The other one walks on his and has refused all surgeries which is actually doing better then both of us. It is great to get bone replacement if you are older and have only one area that needs bone replacement.

I guess this is just an effect of hanging around too long and getting old.
I need both knees done, both shoulders plus my back and I could use total new right hand.....but the doctors today....do not recommend any surgery with the remark you are doing better than anyone we know. We know this you're not dying, but you have to manage pain. If you go to the othro docs they will want to do surgery and boy do they love to do surgery! "You are not considering it are you?" At night the back pain along with the shoulder pain got so bad that I could not sleep......went on the net to do a mass research and found sources that recommended gel memory foam...pad 3 inches thick....gel because it does not heat up. It was amazing that outrageous pain went away. I had to go off the meds...most where doing organ damage....so went to natural amazing enough some of those work a lot better than the pharm pills. Oh, yea because people ask....I do not use weed for pain, it does zero for my issues although some people swear to it.

Dileon I would consider surgery, especially for the shoulder, but the Doctor's (primary care and ortho surgeon, say that they will not put me under a general anesthetic except in an emergency. I have problems with diastolic blood pressure control and am in Stage 4 stable kidney failure. I had one kidney removed in 1995 for cancer, so no backup there.
