              Thanks all, nope doing my therapy I tried to persuade the therapist going to the shop might be good therapy, she took me serious said your on blood thinner not a good idea.LOL.

                glad to hear it is going the right direction for you now. try like Paul G and do some small carving on your lap. your grandkids can form out an outlined roughout for you.

                  thanks everyone for the positive comments, I'm hoping to start going back out to the shop next week, i think I'm low enough on my pain pill dose that i can distinctly tell the difference if I'm carving on a piece of wood or my finger, LOL.

                    Mark,
                    Good for you! The quicker you can get off the pain pills the better! As a veteran of two back surgeries since August of 2017, I shed the pain pills within 10 days of each surgery. Made me feel hazy and woozy all the time, and frankly, the pain wasn't so bad when I wasn't on the pills.
