Winter Florida Camping

I'm just curious on the best area that promotes Woodcaring and clubs in the Florida area.My wife and I are looking into living in central Illinois from April-Nov.but want a area to park a Class C and stay all winter with some good woodcarving friends which really promotes carving, plus I may be able to start teaching classes a little by then, thanks.

We have a number of carvers in the Clearwater area. The Suncoast club meetings average about 20 members in the summer but swells to over 50 in the winter months with many Snow Birds from around the country and Canada. Many also donate time to carving at a local park filled with historic buildings.

I know you knew Joe Lutz, Suncoast was the club Joe carved with when he was in Florida.

Thanks so much Treewizard, yes I have checked into the area, I know were Joe Lutz stayed they had a park woodshop available to use if I'm correct.

The FloraBama Cut Ups are a active and fun carving club in Pensacola Florida. They have a face book page. There are 4 or 5 other carving groups in central Florida You can find them on line also. In my younger years I traveled all over the country and never found an unfriendly carving group.
