I was paid a nice compliment

Thought I would share this with you all. It caught me off guard a little bit. We were visited by our neighbor the other day and I showed her a couple of the things I have carved. After a little while, her son came over and saw them too and said he liked them. And now the compliment. Her son dropped by last night and asked if I could teach him how to carve them! Of course I said yes! While not an outright verbal compliment I take it as such. Especially when you consider he is 18, just out of high school, has a girl friend, etc, yet wants to learn our hobby. Blows me away.

Great that some 18 year old wants to start carving. Fantastic. I wonder about our hobby being reduced to nothing since it is populated by older folks. Sure a promising sign, and glad to see it happening.

That is great James! It is not easy to fine someone that age who wants to do any thing that does not require a remote and or a mouse. My grandson ask me a few years back if I would show him how to carve. He was 17 then. A few weeks later he said it was cool but so slow! He went back to computer games and saving for a drone.
