I'll agree - the amount I have learned here on the WCI forums is way more than I could ever have discovered through trial and error and error and error...on my own.

    Thanks, WCI!!

WCI accelerated my growth as a carver. Always constructive feedback concerning one project after another. Drawing was never a puzzle but I had and still have all kinds of questions about tools and technique. I get a lot of valuable answers which make it easy to move on.

It's a shame we lost all the old photo illustration archives with the hack.
That was an astounding body of work.

You have certainly hit the target and have to agree. There aren't many forums I go to anymore and this one is tops. Seems to be rapid change in our culture and it gets coarser and coarser. Sad to see.

Hi Randy , thanks for posting this Thank You to WCI . I have enjoyed this Mag. for many years and learned a lot from a Bunch of Friends from around the World who I would have never got to know . Never seen them and probably never will . This Mag. gives us the Opportunity enjoy Friendship that we would never have had. A word just came to mind , Comfortable , is a good Word for it also . Thanks again Randy and to you also WCI. Merle

I had to quit some other forums lately....one of them was good information and some great science. But it was full of trolls, I complain it often was like going into a star wars bar ,... you know the one with the bar full of monsters waiting to kill you off. I had to get ready for battle every time I went in there. An it always left me full of really sick feeling as this is what we are today??? Facebook was so bad I had to quit, people feel often it is normal to bully and smart mouth people.

I do believe this is one of the very few forums that people can be educated, have some integrity, share their experience and opinions without someone behind you with a verbal battle. My appreciation is major do to that fact....that there are good honorable people and a few great forums left. A plus that trolls are not invited. And awesome moderators get rid of the spam and more fast. Plus when I have a road block in my carving there are always at least ten opinions I can try out ...that is priceless. I am learning new things. gratitude for all of you is major over all these years.

I feel the same way Randy!.... I've been hanging around here since 08, and have seen a lot of members come and go in that time, and never once have I witnessed anything but helpful, caring people. Can't say the same for some of the other sites, especially Facebook. Hopefully we have lots of years ahead of us to continue picking up those handy tips and suggestions so freely offered.

Just a note to say thanks.

I have enjoyed this forum for a number of years now and hope to for many more. Wanted to say thank you to all of you that share you skills and knowledge. The great and fun thing about carving is that there seem to alway be more to learn. Here you can see or read of technique, ideas and tool that can apply to all forms of carving. I learned new things from beginners to others who have carved as long or longer than I have. I appreciate the respect everyone here show each other. It’s not that way a some of the other forums I have tried. Hats off to Woodcarving Illustrated for hosting and managing the site.
    Have a great day everyone.
