I am awed by the color and clarity of your photos! The colors in the water, the right lighting, everything is just perfect! The black (goose? duck?) the detail in it's feathers..couldn't get better!

Thanks for the nice comments guys. Went from riches to rags today went out really early but the cloud didn't clear so the light was dismal.Only ended up with about 2 shots that were any good. But there is always next time out hehehehe!!!You cab see how there is no real sparkle to the shots
The bar tailed godwit had lost a foot at some stage but was in no trouble. Was flying with the flock and using the injured leg to have a wash with. Looks like an old injury I think. This shot was heavily cropped.
Hi Randy
Yes this 800mm lens is a real nice beast!!!! I tried a canon 1.4 teleconverter on it today and got nice clear shots with it but with the light being so bad everything was dull and lacking in that sparkle that makes for a good shot so it was a "TRAINING DAY" hehehe. The lens with the 1.4 on it is going to be a great set up though and pushes the lens out to 1120mm
Going to be interesting to see how the Canon 2x teleconverter behaves when that arrives. Will need LOTS of light though.Last edited by Glenn Jennings; 04-27-2022, 05:01 PM.

Hi Guys
Can't do a lot with the state of the shoulder and wrist at the moment and it has rained almost every day in the last month and is getting a bit colder now. Have had a few visitors coming in for a free feed and a look around. Got some photos of them from the back deck of the house. Feel free to use anything you might like.
The parrot is an eastern Rosella. They came in from Australia. The NZ wood pigeon, Waxeye and common sparrow.
Enjoy.

Hi Guys
The rest of the bird photos attached. Because the waxeye and sparrow birds were too close to focus on with the 800mm lens I stcked on about 60mm of extension tubes which enabled me to focus on them at around 5-6m. This produced some vignetting in the corners of the photo which I then cropped to remmove. Pretty happy with the end result.
a couple of the shots I set up so that the background was about 50m away from the bird. This gave me those really nice totally diffused backgrounds.
Enjoy!
Cheers
Glenn
