  • My third favorite Hobby.

Carving and fishing are 1 & 2. Number 3 is Shooting. I shot completion pistols before I was in high school. When came back from Vietnam I put it down for about 49 years. I have slowly gotten back into target shooting and some hunting and home defenes has become part of the equation also. Not a big arsenal, 22cal target pistol and a S&W 357. I have been trying to get a Henry Arms lever action Model X 357/38 for over a year and a half to comlete my needs. (wants). They do not make alot and they are sold about as fast as they are made. The stars finaly lined up and I am a happy old man.

Beautiful fire arm, Randy, Henry is a nice company with great quality, as you know. I'd sure like a Henry but above my budget.

I understand the buget issue Bill. I save up a get a henry fund over about 6 years. I was surprises to get one couple of hundred under msrp. I have some money left over for some ammo.

Supply and dealer allotments seem to finally be improving. The ammo shelves aren't empty anymore. Although I'm seeing plenty of .38, I'm still seeing very little factory .357 around here. That seems odd to me.

Henrys are nice rifles. Have fun!

Over the past year I have been buying on line. Some good price on both rounds and they deliver to your door.

Have fun, Randy. It's one hobby I've never tried. At 90 it's unlikely I'll get to it. LOL

Congrats! I have just retired and am downsizing. Going thru the stuff I haven't touched in 30 years I have a hankering to get back into target shooting as well. The area I'm moving to seems to have a culture more conducive for that.

Before I moved here I would enjoy a Saturday afternoon hour or two at the range.

Nice looking rifle! I love the Henry magazine-fed rifles, especially the lever action. I have a pump-action .22 rifle that uses SR rounds. It is an old gallery gun, and has groups like a shotgun, lol. Sad to say, I don't have a rifle like yours, it is really cool. I stopped shooting early in the Covid days when the price of ammo got stupid. I shoot at the Distinguished Expert level with a rifle, was an NRA-Certified Firearms Instructor for rifle and shotgun, and a Merit Badge Counselor for rifle and shotgun for many years, as a leader in the BSA.
