I bought an assortment of Razertip Feather Former tips, along with a couple of their interchangeable pens. When I attached them to my Excaliber burner from DetailMaster, however, the tip(s) got red hot, even at the lowest heat setting. If I touched a tip to wood (I was using basswood), it scorched and smoked the surface immediately. When I talked with an online dealer in woodburning supplies, he told me I needed a lower-powered burner. Any suggestions?

Do the interchangeable feather texturing tips work on the Colwood Detailer also?

Razortip has adaptors for most burners, they do adapt to a Colwood.
