Easy access off Interstate 540 ( only 8 miles from it ) and some great hotel rates too. A large RV park only 10 minutes away and also RV spaces on the grounds too. A nice outdoor pavilion for after hours get together or extra space for an inside gathering. Fine dining only 8 miles away. Following the seminar is the Woodcarvers of Northwest Arkansas Show and Competition. Their are also has some great attractions. Crystal Bridges Museum, one of the newest and best venues for American Art. You need 4 hours to see all that is there including extensive out door Sculptures. Home of Wal-Mart Corporate offices and Sam's first store is a museum. Yes and this is Razorback country with the University Of Arkansas. Rogers has two museums, Daisy BB Museum and a heritage Museum. Springdale also has a great one to visit. If you are a Civil War buff, There is the Pea Ridge Battlefield and Museum and Prairie Grove Battlefield and Museum is also a great visit. A modern shopping center in Rogers and a casino in Siloam Springs makes it something for all. If you visit my blog you can see a few of the pictures from our Saturday visit. I could have even taken pictures of the paintings too, provided you do not use flashes or get closer than 18".

                    Re: War Eagle Seminar 2012

Just a update to keep you informed.
We have a hotel offering $40.00 room rates, but space is limited and you need to make room reservations early.
Have added a Watercolor instructor to the group of instructors.
We have a walking staff & indian flute instructor comming on board and he will teach you how to play the flute after you carve it. You will get a walking staff and a flute completed.
Hoping to get Kirt Curtis to instruct carving an antler/moose horn too. Just working out the final details, if he can clear his schedule for that week.
Also have a oil painting instructor that may join us too.
Just keep watching and check the web site for the latest information.
                    http://wareaglewoodcarvingseminar.weebly.com/instructors-page-2.html
We are hoping to round out to 20 instructors this week or next. This will finish up our roster for this year. Who knows maybe two weeks next year. This is getting to where the old War Eagle Seminar use to be.

Northwest Arkansas is a great vacation spot with the museums here and so much to do. Did I mention we are only 1.5 hour drive from Branson and all the shows and shopping up there. Yes there was some tornado damage there, but almost every thing is up and going strong. We were up there last weekend and enjoyed our trip, shoped and took in a show.
Plan now to make it a great vacation/carving event.
Still have some rooms left at the $40.00 rate at Extended Stay.
Carving Magazine ran an article on Marty Dolphins and his art. He is teaching here also. Check out his web page.

                        Re: War Eagle Seminar 2012

With only five months to War Eagle Seminar, we have filled out a complete set of fine instructors. Six Power carvers including antler carving, fish carving, egg carving, bird carving, realistic animal carving and floral carving. You can also carve mountain men, cowboys, figures (probably beautiful females), and also painting classes (watercolor and oil) and a basket making class. Top it all off with an excellent enviroment, lighting, inside out of dust and rain, clean space and a hot lunch that you can buy right there in the room. Top that off with great room rates of $40 to $45 per night, best make reservations early as these are filling fast. Great fellowship reminiscent of the old seminars of the past, remember the old days?
Below is an abreviated brochure you can print out or forward to your fellow carvers.
Enjoy your summer and come carve with us in the fall.
                        Great place to be!!!

Sorry for some of the confusion on the Seminar.
First, if you search War Eagle Seminar you will probably go to the old War Eagle Fair Seminar site which states that they no longer sponsor the seminars.

Go direct to http://wareaglewoodcarvingseminar.weebly.com/ for current information on the New War Eagle Seminars. We are still on schedule. Only 5 months away.

We now have 19 instructors covering almost all aspects of carving including watercolor and oil painting classes.

Second, The Extended Stay hotel listed on our web site still offers the $40.00 room rate, BUT you MUST make reservations NOW as the rooms for that date are filling fast!!!!

                            From our web site.
Also available is a rate of $40.00 to $45.00, limited rooms available, at Suburban Extended Stay, 200 Southwest Suburban Lane, Bentonville, AR 72712, call hotel direct (479) 268-4400, tell them you are with the War Eagle Seminar. Rooms are limited Reserve NOW to get the rate.

Hopefully this clears up some of the miss information., If not feel free to email me.
See you in September at the New War Eagle Woodcarving Seminar.
