Sixteen Weeks to 2012 War Eagle Woodcarving Seminar.
Enrollment sure has picked up. Looking forward to a really good turn out.

Already getting talk about the 2013 seminar. Will be adding several new instructors. John Engler, Debbie Edwards, Harley Schmidgen, amoung some others that need to clear their schedules for 2013 seminar.

We have a great selection for this year too, giving you a great opportunity to learn from some great teachers at a reasonable price. Check out the list of 19 instructors.

Looking more like the good old days, great carving instruction, fun and superb fellowship.
Do not forget about the woodcarving show the week end after the seminar.

Make this your vacation destination, we have a packet with a guide to everything to do in the area. You may want to book a few days extra to sight see.

    See ya in September.

      Re: War Eagle Seminar 2012

This year War Eagle Seminars welcomes back an old time favorite in antler carving. Kirt Curtis has been instructing sence the 80's, carving everything from Santas to moose horns. He has traveled the US and Canada teaching woodcarving seminars. His wife, Linda began teaching in 1999, and now retired, has joined Kirt to team-teach as well as teaching on her own. Maybe we can get her to teach one of her classes in the 2013 season of the seminars.
Kirt will be instructing one of his famious moose horn projects. An expert in design and power carving on horn. He makes the impossible look only like just difficult. Go to the War Eagle Seminar site to view his project for this year. Instructors page 2 - War Eagle Woodcarving Seminar

It is also a treat to visit his and Linda's web gallery and view some exceptional art. Kirt and Linda Curtis - Home Page

We are very fortunate to have such skilled artisins this year.
Hope you can join us in a fablious week at War Eagle Seminar in Benton County Fairgrounds.

Patty Rucker is one of the instructors at the War Eagle Seminar this year. A long time favorite at War Eagle, she brings a smile and some really great instruction.
Ever want to do a scrimshaw on ivory or do some really great woodburning with excellent shading on basswood, then this is the place to be.
Patty is an excellent painter too. But the most impressive painting she can help you with is to add color to a broach after scrimshawing the image. Just the right hint of color to make it look like an antique. Exceptional help on shading too.
          Check out her bio on our web;

She and Adair have donated one of their Santa's for the raffle at the seminar. We now have 9 instructors contributing carvings to the raffle. Just another great opportunity at War Eagle Woodcarving Seminar.

Patty is one of the most talented people I know. She is such a good carver. One of the best in scrimshaw. Her portrait painting's stand alone and the way she paints carving's is well worth learning. She is at the top in woodburning. Check out her web site.

Adair Rucker, Will be teaching Santas at this years War Eagle. Not only is Adair a great carver and teacher he is quite a cut-up too. Such a enjoyable class as he tells jokes and visits, while sharing his talent. Each year he has a new Santa to work on. You can pick from his group of rough outs and customize them to your liking with a little help from a friend. Patty is always glad to help a little with the painting phase too. So you get a two for one deal.
Go to The war eagle site or the Ruckers site to get additional information.

Jim Wilsford, our man from Tennessee will be teaching a Ram carving, a power carving class this year at War Eagle Seminar. Jim has many techniques that will add realism to your carvings. A well known instructor and carver, has developed a unique technique with power and woodburning to add life to any animal carving you would like to do. This years project is a ram standing on a rock outcroping. Fitting to hang on the wall or set in a bookshelf. Students taking his class at previous War Eagle Seminars all leave with a very impressive carving.
Come carve with Jim this September at an inside class room.
