Calusa woodcarving show in Hudson, FL

I know it's about 4 weeks off yet (first weekend in March) but I hope that some of you who don't live too far off from the Tampa Bay area, might make plans to attend our annual show.

Been having our show for over 20 years now and it's always a good one. We have 2 world class bird carvers planning to display their work this year. One is a club member and the other lives in the Orlando area but is set to do our show again this year, after an absence of a couple years. We'll have suppliers and wood vendors, demonstrations and door prizes given out.

The dates and location address are posted in the Calendar of Events on the left side of your screen. I would love to put a face to some of the names I see on here.

        Hi Dave,
I'll be looking forward to seeing you again..... hope Eddy can make it this year too.
We recently discovered a new source for basswood up here in Homosassa Springs and the guy is going to be a wood vendor at the show, so I'm told. His prices are decent and the wood looks good.

Good luck with your club show, Merguslin. I hope you have good weather and a great turn out.

I will try to do that..... Most folks at the show, won't mind my snapping some shots. I tend to be anchored to my table most of the time but I'll pack the camera and see what develops...LOL

Hi Guys!.....March 2nd and 3rd! We're planning on being there if we can keep all the bugs that are going around at bay! I really don't need much but I would like to pick up a couple of piece of 5/4 or 6/4 planking for whittlin'. Also, a trip up to the show will give me an excuse to stop off at Hobby Lobby on the way home.

I sure hope you guys make it, Eddy. Would love to see you again.

Just finished carving my last piece before the show. I have 3 standing figures to paint now. If that goes quickly, I might have time to whip out an ornament or 2 yet.

That would be great, Paul!! If you do come, please look me up. As you come in the entry way, turn left and go down the very first row. I'll be a couple tables down on the right.....the "ditsy blonde" with carved Santa figures. You might run into Gulfcoast Handyman and Eddy Smiles too.

Forgive me for shamelessly bumping this thread back up to the top just one more time....

Our annual woodcarving show is this weekend and I'd love for those within a few hours driving distance of us, to consider a nice way to spend part of your weekend and come see us. Doors open at 10am both days and we're running until 4pm on Saturday and probably close to that on Sunday, although folks have a tendency to start packing up a little early on day 2.

If you do come, please look me up and say hi.

Dress warm! It's going to be chilly! (At least for us Florida Flat Landers!)

                              Suzan ,
Good luck at your show tomorrow . If you or anyone that you know that is attending the show that are taking pictures ask them if they would want to post the pictures on my website www.worldofdecoys.com - Home on the Pictures of Interest section. I am trying to get pictures from as many shows as possible for people to see. Thank you - good luck and have fun.
