I sent a carving supply package to our troops in Afghanistan back on Jan. 24th. I sent it with "Delivery Confirmation". According to my tracking number the package was "Delivered" on Jan. 31st, but I never got a "delivery confirmation". Seven days seems like a pretty short time for a package to go from the USA to Afghanistan. Is there any way I can be sure the package actually got there? Has anyone else had this experience? Those of you who have sent packages...do you know how long it took your package to arrive and how were you sure the package got there? I really hope my package isn't "floating around" somewhere.

Re: Package to Afghanistan
Don, that kind of what I thought. Do you have any idea how long it would take to get to its final destination in Afghanistan?Keep On Carvin'

Re: Package to Afghanistan
The mail to the troops doesn’t go through customs of any foreign country but the military may inspect it for banned items. Sometimes it’s quicker than regular mail but if it gets slated for further inspection it could take a while. Back when I was on active duty the only thing banned was drugs, firearms, and pornographic material. Now days there is a huge list of things that offend someone.

Re: Package to Afghanistan
Bob
Several of us sent packages to a WO in country last year and it was recieved in 10 days or so. Depending on where the individual is stationed, it could take longer. As Don said, mail is delivered in just a couple of days but then has to be transfered to that companies postal clerk prior to delivery to the individual. That is where the timeframe can be extended. It can be a quick process or quite slow, Be patient, it will get there.
