  • Open House: Please Post Your Comments Here

    Dear Friend of WCI:

We have been searching for the right place to hold our next Open House since our own facilities became too small in 2007.

We're really excited about the possibility of holding it in cooperation with another hobbyist organization nearby in Lancaster County. The Rough and Tumble Historical Association looks like the perfect place--parking for 600 cars, over 10,000 square feet of space (all ground level), lots of good food on site, and camping/RV park right next door.

But wait, there's more: in addition to seeing our classes and exhibits, you'll be able to see their own amazing show featuring live steam engines, a working saw mill and shingle-making mill, old-time equipment, and more. Check them out at Home Page.

The signs look good, but we still need approval from their board of directors. The board is meeting at the end of May, and I'd like to ask for your help. If you would like to come to our next event or have good things to say about our previous events, please post them here.

Nice photos. I've been to the Rough & Tumble for small engine shows and it's a great location.

I live in the area and am familiar with Rough and Tumble. This is a great place to hold this event. It could be huge. With all the other attractions in the area it will make a perfect vacation for carvers and their families. Come and spend the week. I think WCI should start planning the 2015 event awhile.

It sounds like a great place to have your open house. I attended your last open house as a fairly new carver and was impressed with every aspect. The workshops were great. I'm anxious for the next one.

Just a thought. How about an area where folks on this forum could meet or sign in or something. It would be great to meet in person.

This is the kind of event we love to attend. We have family in Pennsylvania & have often travelled from Calif. in our RV.
