Computer aids to figure out colors for a carving?

    Computer aids to figure out colors for a carving?

    I am not sure what colors I want to use on a carving I just finished. Is there a program that lets you put your carving online and color it? I remember someone said you can photograph your carving and then make it into a line drawing, maybe that is a start. I don't remember what site that is though.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    I'd suggest it depends on the carving and what "message" you're trying to get across... A photo would help with suggestions... For example, a carving of a cowboy can be painted to make him look like a "dude", a time-worn guy, or even one in his Sunday best...

      Hi Claude. I have two figures. One is completely painted and finished. The second figure needs to compliment the first, as they are part of the same children's story. They look nothing alike though. I know I can get idea's here, but was hoping I could figure it out myself with the help of the computer. So far I have sketched out, cut the blank, carved them, and now just need to paint and come up with the base to set them on.

      update, I think I found what I wanted. I am over on a site called. LunaPic.com , there are some fun things you can do with a picture of your carving. . I will let you know how it goes.

        I just did this on my smart phone with two apps. 'SketchGuru' for making the pencil conversion image and 'Picsart' to color-in. Took about 2 minutes to get this far.

        I realize it's kind of crude but, might help out.

              You could probably achieve similar results from MS Paint
