    Re: True experience

We have this, "NO CALL" deal in Nabsas and it seems to work. However, the Sheriff's asspciation does not abide by it and we get at least 4 calls a week asking for donation. Don't get me wrong, they are a good org and do good things for the people in Kansas but going to a solicitor call center and getting their help to get donation is the worse thing they could have done. We got took on two tickets to see the Beach Boys. They did not tell us it was in Dallas Tx which we live in Kansas. We asumed it would be in Kansas like Topeka or Wichita. I should have asked and partly our fault for not. So I guess it was a good donation for the cause. Now, I give them my cell phone number, BR549, which if any of you ever watch HEE HAW years ago, that be Jr Samples use car lot number, then hang up.
I donate to several organization through out the year but don't need a tele-marketer telling me who and what to donate to.

Most of the Sheriff's Assn. solicitors and Police Assn.'s don't know any thing about the fundraisers going on. I called our sheriff and he didn't know about the one targeting our town in his name. I read the legitimate ones only donate 10 or 15% to the sheriff's departments. I've also read that alot of "sweat shop" telemarketing is done out of prisons, by prisoners, taking your credit card info! The state farms them out for telemarketing!!!
