That was a great video. I have long admired this man's work, having seen it only on the web as winners from Dayton Show...it is great to see the artist as well as the work. I was blown away by the number of gouges in his shop, they are worth more than my house....I hope it is possible to create acceptable work without so many tools

You all are welcome. I thought it was a very well done interview/video of a GREAT carver.

I think he needs to put up a Web Cam in his shop!

He was a hoot to talk to when I interviewed him for the Woodcarver of the Year interview! And SlowMover, you probably don't need all of those tools unless you're doing Fred's Mezzo relief style with the deep undercuts and piercings...

I love the way he stores his tools, this is a major issue with me, especially being ocean side, and extreme moisture....perhaps this way with a dehumidifier in the cabinet...something to ponder. Honestly I believe Fred is among the top wood carvers in the world.

Thanks for posting the links to Fred's videos. I just watched them all, really interesting, great stuff. I never get tired of seeing his work. In one of the videos I think Fred said he doesn't consider himself a master. I got a chuckle out of that, hello, earth to Fred, if you're not a master, than none has ever lived. Me thinks.
