Just think: you can eat the scraps. No wonder they're called "chips."
Please pass the butter & salt.
As soon as I can find carving material that nobody can find, I'll author an article.

We get loose packing material (aka "ghost doo-doo") made from foamed and dried starch of some sort. Like the old Styrofoam beans. The least hint of water and it collapses into nothing. Potato wood might be really difficult to paint.

The company is still working out U.S. Distribution.

It's actually pretty durable... at least as durable as basswood. It's kinda heavy. And one of the techniques is to intentionally get it wet to glue two pieces together. And if your piece if completed, you can get the whole thing wet to create a smooth finish.

It accepts paint well, but it doesn't woodburn well... the burner groove is larger than I'd expect in wood, and it smells like burnt french fries...

I think potatoes should only be used for the purpose they were created for.

It's similar, but the not the same as soap or clay. It's hard and surprisingly dense. But easy to carve, with no grain.
