    Re: Competing Activity/Talents

I have problems about what to do next. When I was working I did a lot of carving. It was a nice way to relax, & forget about working with iron, being an heavy equipment mechanic. After I retired, I have so many interests, it has kept me away from carving more than I wish. I enjoy all kinds of woodworking, such as woodturning, cabinet work, rustic furniture, computer, & digital imaging. Plus I even tried my skills to be a Luthier. I made an electric Guitar for my musician son.
Someday I'm going to start an album in this gallery of my accomplishments.
The main thing though is there's never a dull moment. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

    Regards, Chipncut Apple

There is a lot of difference in the two kayaks in the pictures. Why do you have the two different ones?

I also have a book on Strip Built wood kayaks the would allow you to do both wood working and kayaking. Have you ever built your own kayak?

          Re: Competing Activity/Talents

I have problems arranging my time and still keeping things in control (somewhat). I raise and show Silkie bantams which just the daily care of takes a lot of time. I want to be carving all the time, have cleanibg to do, shopping, meals etc. I used to enjoy mountain & road biking but that has been discontinued, no time. I am seriously thinking about no more poultry shows. I also like to read and design websites.

Greyhair - I purchased a Boreal kayak for my first and I now own a Valley Fibreglass kayak - Greenland style. I have contemplated making my own many times. I was pretty close to building a skin on frame Greenland kayak, however, I lost motivation. The Cedar Strip kayaks are works of art. I've seen a number of them over the years and would love to build/own one.
