In the midst of a heat advisory period now in Louisiana through at least Friday. Heat Index 105 degrees. Humidity is so high I can hardly breathe outside. Grass still growing, though, and will need to be cut...sooner or later! You can have the Good Old Days, give me Air Conditioning!

We are blessed up here in Nova Scotia ;....... 8:30 am, 60 F and not a cloud in the sky. It will probably reach 70 F later today, but the humidity is low so it promises to be a beautiful day.

we are hitting our stride here in Buffalo NY, enjoying the weather we earned this past winter. Big temp swings are perfect- nights near 60 and days in the mid 80-s

Ten years ago, when I retired, my wife and I moved to Chula Vista,California
California from Oregon, if I stand on the roof of my house I can see the ocean. We moved here because it is very cool during the summer months, but this summer the heat became unbearable, but since we have an air conditioned house, I have it on for the last ten days.
Summers in California means \'Forest Fires\', due to the dryness of our local Forests this summer is no different and the \'brush fires\' are burning everything
in their path where many small communities are located all the way to the Mexican Border. The people in these small communities have been given the order to evacuate their homes, but some refuse to leave until they can get their animals, horses, cattle and pigs out safely causing many problems for the Forest Fire Fighters.
Years ago State and County Prisoners with non violent sentences used have
special camps out in the Forests, they were assigned to Fire Prevention, keeping the dry weeds and grass away from the trees and surrounding forest areas. All
resulting in less forest fires, these prisoners did a great job but those times have been slowly fading away and the forest fires continue to get more destructive.
