One of my favorite features of the old forum was the list of birthdays at the bottom. I loved joining in to wish the friends I never met happy birthday, and was always thrilled (and surprised, somehow) to log an and find my friends wishing me the same. It really touched my heart, if that is possible on a crusty grumpy guy like myself.
Since there is no list, I figured I should wish myself a HBD, I hope you all take the opportunity to do the same, cuz I do not remember anybody elses.
I had what I will call a Cinderfella birthday-
pot of percolated coffee on the stove
clean the kitchen
prep two racks of ribs to marinate on the grill
went shopping at the local farmers market (why arent radishes hot anymore? ones I grow are, ones I buy are not...
Planted 7 roses 4 primroses 47 moss roses in front of the house, my kids prepped
the bed on fathers day for me
(had a beer a bowl of cashew chili and a nap in the middle of that)
cooked ribs and zucchini boats on the grill
ate til I fell into a food coma
and now Nascar is getting set to race in Daytona under the lights
Spent most of the day with my best friend, so glad she said yes 29 years ago...
