Hi everyone! Glad to be here. I have been woodworking my whole life. It runs in the family from my Grandpa on down the line. I did carpentry for 15 years and still have the craving to do woodworking. In the last couple years i expanded from just general woodworking, to scroll saw work, to turning to anything i can find that peaks my interest. I always wanted to get into carving and just received some carving knives for Christmas. I am hooked! This can be an addicting hobby. I am glad to be here to learn from everyone!

This forum is always happy to help, ask lots of questions and read the tons of subjects on here. The old post we got hacked on here about five years ago? and lost lots of pictures but the discussions are still here. You will get lots and lots of different opinions on here...so pick the one that you want to try and go for it. You tube has also lots of videos on wood carving, although those people showing you have been carving for a very long, long time make it look easy...there is lots to learn before you get to that stage but looking at to learn. I live in rainforest Hawaii, I have no carvers in my area, but everyone I talk to locally is master woods craftsmen as they do know tons more about wood often than I do. Have fun, and enjoy.. Explore! Dream! Discover!” aloha Di
