  • Little Owl

Just had to try this. From the latest issue of WCI, article by Steven Kulp on carving an owl from an egg. This one stands just over 2 inches tall.

Nice Claude, now I have to try one.
If I took the time to fix all my mistakes, I wouldn,t have time to make new ones.

Good looking owl there Claude! They are a fun carving and seem to disappear faster than I can carve them. I really like your eyes.

Terry: Shhhh, don't tell anyone else this secret for the eyes. I paint them black, then add a coat or two of Modge Podge just to the eye. It smooths the surface, dries crystal clear and reflects light just like a real eye - no little white dot is necessary.

Cute little critter Claude. Nicely done. I've been thinking about doing one of those too. Neat project. Got some eggs around here. But right now I'm working on something else. I like the mod podge trick!

Thanks for that info Claude. My bottle of Modge Podge died that slow death of turning into a rock so I may have to get another one. I just found some stuff called Triple Thick Gloss that may do the same thing. I just need to get some painting done to try it.

Terry: I have also used some of my wife's Sally Hanson Hard as Nails clear nail polish.
