Deer looking?

Just finished my latest , They are Bass wood, finished with a heavy coat of BLO, set out to dry for 3 days, then coated with Tung oil set for 4 hours and wipped off as much as possible. Then set in the sun for 5 hours and the are as hard as christal. 5 " high

Ha ha, well at one time that ol Buck ht the floor, and lost his manhood. Luckily my son was her to glue him back in shape!!

Nice one mate. Looking good. I really like the lines of the pieces. You have caught the attitude of the animals really well.

The cunning things don't just sniff the wind. I have seen one go down on his knees so he could see under the tree ferns to make sure the coast was clear.

In "hindsight" it is good to see you are right into it and Not "stagnating". Interesting that the blo and oil has made them go "fawn" coloured. Deer oh deer the sick puns just don't get any better do they.

Looks like the hand has mended well and you are right back into it. Awesome!!

Thank you kind Sir, and it is coming along quite well (the hand that is) the color is great and now painting my Dancers and hoping for the best there as I have not ever painted any of my carvings b4. So my real challenge is steady hands as I have Tremors and that is the pittttttttttaaatattstts.

Yes those buck are a real sneaky bunch, I used to in the high desert of Oregon, and I would lay close to the sage bruse and wait for one of those guys to lick it's nose, then when the shiney thing came up in the scope you knew wher to get closer. Sometimes it worked,,,~~~~`` sometimes they knew right where you were AALLLall the time. Or a darn Grouse would kick up just as you were getting close. Whew I could go on and on..

Hi Chuck
When I do some of my painting i set myself up with a rest for the wrist to sit on so there is no stress on the arm whatsoever. This helps a lot with the steadiness of the hand. You can use the one hand to control the brush and the other to steady the brush to give you more control. Works for me on occasion when it's needed. Works really well for finer detail. Hope it works for you.
