Well, thank you for the comments, but I still don't like the painting. I didn't intend to paint the base, but my band saw burned the wood so bad. Old saw, hard to find blades. Anyway, thanks all!

Take a look at the Timberwolf blades at http://www.suffolkmachinery.com/ They will custom weld a blade for you for your needed length. I won't buy anything else for my bandsaws. I'd suggest a 3/16 inch 4 TPI blade: https://www.timberwolfblades.com/pro...p?prod=31604PC This is what I buy all the time for my old Craftsman.
