Re: First Loon For 09
Hugh .... Bill sure used the correct word, "beauty".
That bird is simply beautiful but there is sure nothing simple about a loon, is there?
I find your work remarkable.
Thank you for showing us.
We would appreciate other views if possible.

Hugh,
It's beautiful! I've wanted to do a loon for years. Even have a cutout. someday...............
Tell me, with a loon, do you do soft feathers on the chest and feather groups on the rest of it? I've never seen one in real life and they seem to be "slick" or smoother than usual birds/ducks.
Anyway, I love it.

Re: First Loon For 09
Donna the Loon is slick, smooth, mostly small, well defined , hard feathers. The head is stoned, and defined with the burning pen, the breast and belly is fine stoned, and touched up with the burning pen. The rest of the feathers are textured with the burning pen,(no stoning) with as fine burning as possible.
Thanks everyone for the very kind comments on the Loon.
