While I seem to be functional, let me add a pic or two of the most recent carving, a male brook trout with his fall color on. I carve most of my fish from Jelutong anymore except for the fins. The fins seem to carve better (and feel better) when I use Tupelo. He is painted with all sorts of things (acrylic, powders, watercolor pencil, vine charcoal, etc). Used brush and airbrush. I used a bit of rock textured spray paint for the rocks, followed by painting the chosen color. Branch is pieces of Tupelo scraps joined together to form the shapes I needed.
