Finished this little guy today;...He's a bit different from the style that I usually carve , but I guess it doesn't hurt to experiment a bit from time to time.
I just recently got a book from Chipping Away by Bill Howrilla titled " Carving Golfers" and this was the feature golfer and the one that he provided the step by step for. ( there are 11 other patterns in the book and all look like they would be fun to do)
I believe that the author carved his 4" high, but I found that a bit too small for my main carving knife ( # 299 Stanley Utility Knife ) so I enlarged the pattern to 5-1/2" and even that was a bit of a challenge
