  • All around cowboy circa 1957

He has aged some since winning the all around cowboy buckle which he seems to have lost, Painted with oils, Do you think i should antique him particularly the shirt? I thinned the shirt and scarf with neutral spirits and the rest was thinned with BLO. he is from a Chris Hammack rough out By the way oils don't bleed nearly as much as acrylics.

Hi Herb; you've done a great job on that fellow. Not hard to see Chris Hammack's influence on that one, I'd recognize those bowed legs anywhere ..
as for antiquing, that's a decision you'll have to make, personally I think he's fine the way he is.

        Hi Herb
I think it would be very difficult to antique him any more then he is, which is perfect in my eye, nice carving

Herb, nice work! I've never been one to treat my finished pieces with a gel stain to antique them....kinda spooky of you ask me! He came out great.

Dang Herb, he is walking like I do in the morning (oh heck all day who am I kidding) It is a fine carving & you know I've alway been pleased when I antiqued something. If it were me, I would probably to both the shirt and pants.
