Carved this little wizard from a band saw cutout. It is an Ed Zimmer pattern by Moore Roughouts that you can purchase if you like doing roughouts. I made a pattern from their picture and carved one for my grandaughter, who is a Harry Potter fan. Need a crystal for his hand.

Tom - that wizard is really wonderful. I read recently that some rare emeralds had been recovered from a sunken ship - maybe a crystal there. Seriously, this is great work!

Excellent job on that fellow Tom ! Should be able to find a crystal in some costume jewelry that would work and still be affordable

That's why we can't see the knives! The wizard made them disappear!

Thanks Phil, maybe I should look for one of the Montana sapphires.

Wayne, this is going to my grandaughter, so maybe I will let her find something she thinks should be there.

Thanks Larry, a friend on Long Island sent me a picture, and I just had to give it a try. It could easily be carved as a Santa too.

LOL Joe, She already says that it is the best carving I have ever done. Maybe I can trade her some rice krispy treats.

Beautiful work Tom! That's a great Wizard! You might try a marble for the crystal.

Thanks Terry, I didn't know if wizards played marbles or not???

Thank you Merle. You are kind to say that. Another month before her birthday, then I,ll see what happens.

Great little wizard, Tom! If you have a local bead shop, they often have various crystals in lots of shapes. You could take her along to help you pick out the crystal...
