Unless I completely don't understand, I don't see why you would use stain and paint on the same project. I would choose one or the other.Keep On Carvin'

On top I'm gonna use some gel medium, and acrylic paint.... This is what I use, I'm sure most people use one or the other but never both.Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/CreationDream

Thank you much... I still debate if I should paint the eyebrows as well... I'll probably do, last night I was not sure. The staining itself darkens the wood a bit and protects it from moisture, giving a nice skin tone... let aside that I am a very lousy painter...Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/CreationDream

Thanks, Terry! I've seen that video and have actually tried that method once or twice. I wasn't wild about it though, but I think my problem was that I didn't get enough of the raw sienna oil paint dissolved into the natural stain. Robert threw me off when he said he was using a combination of wood conditioner, oil and stain. Like I said in my original post...I didn't completely understand. In any case, I think I'll stick with the methods that are working for me.Keep On Carvin'
