    I carved this from a soft ball, an older soft ball that a dog had been chewing on, the rubber is similar to a golf ball, newer store bought soft balls have rubber that is too soft to carve easily

        Good job Herb!... I think it serves a fellow well to step away from the common way of doing things once in a while ( using something other than basswood) . I might have to give one of those soft balls a try some time.

                    Very neat. I carved a softball for my daughter--she was the softball player in the family. Very different carving. Your carving definitely has more detail. Thanks for sharing.
