  • Zeb the Cowboy

After seeing about a million cowboy carving pictures since I started doing this back in August I finally figured I'd jump in the game.

This is Zeb. He's 3.25" tall and he needs a shave. And maybe a pistol. Thanks for checking him out.

Hey thanks! It was lots of fun freeing this guy from the block of wood he was trapped in

Thanks, Bruce. Having too much fun to quit any time soon. One of the benefits of being a stay at home dad: carve when the kids are taking a nap!

Nice little cowboy Sean, it is great that when you feel like carving, just tell the kids it is nap time. How many naps do they take each day????
If I took the time to fix all my mistakes, I wouldn,t have time to make new ones.

Really well done, plus all that detail and only 3-1/4" tall. Very nice.

"Don't Call Him a Cowboy until you've seen him Ride". Cute little fellow and you did a good job on him.

Zeb looks great! You really get a lot of detail into a 3" block of wood, and your painting is very neat.

Thanks for the kind words, all. I like carving these "little guys". It's challenging and I can get nearly a dozen carvings out of a 36" stick of basswood. Glad you like the details. I got a 3/4" OCCT detail knife for Christmas and it's been put to good use. I'll keep 'em coming as long as Flu-pocalypse doesn't get me first
