Never come home empty handed

Finished this fellow up today. This is based on a carving that Debbie Meador from Seattle did a couple of years ago. I asked her if I could try my hand at it and she graciously agreed .
HE stands 11" high , carved from basswood, painted with washes of acrylics and finished off with a coat of Tried & True from Lee Valley . The base is a piece of white pine stair tread that I turned on my lathe and gave it a coat of golden oak min-wax wax stain......

Thanks for looking and commenting everyone, these fellows are always fun to do. I guess I see a bit of myself in most of them. I used to love to hunt , fish and trap when I was younger, but now walking is difficult so I'll just have to enjoy the memories
