"You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him swim!"
This cowboy started out as a bottle stopper in Rich Wetherbee 's mini clay class at the October Renegade, but I added some clay to make him into a bust and baked him again. As I was carving this guy, I got to thinking about his arms and the rest of his body. Where are they? What are they doing? They must still be there, even if we can't see them? I decided this guy must be in water, maybe a river or a pond. Maybe he got bucked off his horse. Or maybe he's still on his horse! Adding the ripples and having his bandanna floating a bit on the surface almost turns a bust into a scene. Thanks for looking!
