  • Pelican and whistle

Both are from the latest issue of WCI. The grain is to pretty to paint any more on the pelican but we will probably put some paint on the whistle, The whistle works by the way. Another pelican or two are in the working stage.

Looking good Herb!. I just got my issue of WCI yesterday and thought that pelican would be a fun carving to do.

A couple of nice little projects. I will probably try them myself.

I like pelicans. We had a summer cottage about 5 miles from a big pelican rookery.
I'll guess maybe 1/2 cup, just about any time.
If anything, I would paint the beak white first then over-paint orange and opaque.

I would try making one of the whistles, but I'm afraid Pam would be using it to get my attention. Great job, clever ideas.

This is altogether too funny. Now painted, I know that guy. He lives here in my village.
Beard is just as big but gray.. Bushy "power-eyebrows."
