  • "Always keep an eye out for trouble!"

Here is another of my entries for the CCA contest, but I believe this one may have won a second place! This is all from one piece, except the eye ball, earring, lock, and gun. But I had fun carving the earring and lock out of wood (the lock even moves on the hasp). It's nice to get ribbons, but the fun is in the carving and the painting. Thanks for looking!

Great work Mike, including humor with excellent carving. The piece can tell a dozen different stories.

Mike ; I've been a fan of yours since you joined this forum back in 2009 and I have to say that this carving and painting is without doubt your finest effort yet. If I were judging the CCA contest all the other entrants might as well stay home....

What was first place? Someone carved an actual beating human heart? Someone carve a sound? I need to see this. (I'm a sailor, so I'm biased.)
