  • Old man bust

I finished this guy with a couple of stains. The face and shirt have only a natural stain. The coat came out a little splotchy but I like it ok. I can't make up my mind on his face, let me know if you think I should stain or paint his face, or just leave it alone.

Wonderful bust Joe! A lot of character. Excellent profile and I really like how you finished it.

Nice carving. The face has a lot of fuzzies. 600 grit lightly or crumpled brown paper bag will tame them.
Every day should be unwrapped like a precious gift.

He looks very handsome. He looks very neat.
Without any arms, he still seems complete.

His hat is quite shapley. His moustache just right.
Leave his face as it is. It looks good in the light.

Thanks, I really didn't notice that until I looked at the pictures.

Thanks Herb, KaOfan, Terry, papasar, and Rodster for your nice comments. So far I guess no one thinks the face needs more color.

Joe, I'm with the rest of the gang, ... the face looks great as is. As for those fuzzies, that can be taken care of with a sand-o-flex using 320 grit, not a big investment but very worthwhile to have,...http://www.supergrit.com/products/pr...king-sandoflex

Thanks nkian, I appreciate your comment about color harmony.

Thanks Wayne, I actually have a sand-o-flex. Guess I should use it more. On this one I think I will try hand sanding first.

Thanks Merle, Claude, and Bob K, the fuzzies came off easily with a little fine sandpaper.
