What is there not to like, outstanding job all the way around! A question is the hat carved separately?

I do like him Hobo, There is definitely a resemblance. Those are some wide growth rings on that piece of wood. Great job, Tom
If I took the time to fix all my mistakes, I wouldn,t have time to make new ones.

Thanks guys, joepaulbutler gusty is one pc the base I added. Tom A friend gave me that basswood who said it came outta NC Even gave me the number of the sawmill. I've never carved any better basswood in my years of carving only got a few pcs left. And I think the mill closed up. I'm gonna go that way soon and see if I can find some. Shipping is what hurts everyone when you gotta order it but I may have to.

Wow, stunning carving and amazing detail and a great caricature. I always like the hillbilly style carvings and yours is certainly top notch. Is it basswood and what size?

Very good Hobo. Must be a whole bunch of Windy's kin around there.

Spectacular carving! The carving, detailing and painting are all impeccable! An excellent change to an already good pattern. Actually, I think I like your version better.

Great carving really like the details especially the pony tail. Not sure if the arms and face are painted or natural, but the color looks great.
