  • Mummers

" Any Mummers Allowed in Here?"... If you're not familiar with this term , then Google " Mummers+ wood carving + images".
I saw several variations of these characters during my recent visit to Newfoundland, so thought I'd give 'em a try.
    Carved from 1- 1/2" X 1- 1/2" X 3- 1/2" basswood, painted with acrylic washes, and finished with a coat of Tried & True.
Hope you like "em ....( the wife did....she claimed all three of 'em .. )

Very nice caricatures Soggy. The word "mummers" gave me flashbacks to the New Years Day parade in Philadelphia. A marching parade of string bands...loved them. Your carvings have a lot of nice little details, even though the characters don't show them with a flare. Nice to pull that off.

          Gotta love the little fellows.

I really like their facial expressions, it makes them come alive. Good job.
