  • "Captain Toothless Tom"

This is from a Rich Wetherbee rough out, but I'm not sure if he still sells them? I don't think its real old, but I didn't see any on his web site. I really enjoyed carving this one because it offered a lot of challenges with all the details and the piercings in the carving. And deciding on the colors to paint! Carving under the coat would have been a lot easier if I had cut it off the base, but I hated to waste such a big piece of wood, and I managed to figure it out. Thanks for looking!

He's not very fierce for a guy with a sword.
He's not likely to kill you, if you're untoward.

His hat is quite jaunty; his tooth quite the thing.
He's not likely to have many offspring.

Still he's a great carving which I will not deny.
If he's on the shelf, I'd definitely buy.

Great carving, Mike, and like the muted colors of the piece. Great all around.

That is a great carving. I like the way the eyes seem to be looking at you no matter the view (well, except for back view!)
