  • Lester the Lobsterman...

No plaid or camo on Lester, he's strictly a no nonsense lobster fisherman ....
Since the covid travel restrictions have been eased up a bit here in Nova Scotia, we are starting to see a few tourists around, so I thought I'd put these fellows down in the local Museum/gift shop to see if anyone was interested.
Carved the little ones to go along with Lester, as smaller carvings tend to sell better to anyone travelling.... Old Salt 006.JPG Old Salt 004.JPG Old Salt 003.JPG Old Salt 001.JPG Old Salt 002.JPG
9" tall and " skinny as a rail", carved from basswood, painted with acrylics, and finished with a coat of Tried & True.
As always,... fun to do and I hope you like him.

Very nice. An old Navy buddy of mine lives on Cape Cod and I carved him an old man in a yellow slicker. Not as artistic as your though!

I just knew it from the title, there would be 'yellows.' I dragged a shrimp trawl for a while.
I remember my yellow bib-fronts, coat and sou'wester in the rain. Like it was yesterday.
Your carving fits the job like a hand in a glove. I was almost(?) that skinny.
                Thank you.

They are all wonderful, Wayne. The little ones are especially adorable. So bright and cheery the yellow is.
