  • Good Day Huntin'...

It's been a while since I've posted anything, but I finally got this fellow finished up today. I usually don't do request, but for this one I had to make an exception. When a lady came and asked me to carve a duck hunter for her husband. This lady just happened to be my old grade 3 school teacher. Now it's not everyday a 74 year old carver gets to carve something for his grade 3 teacher,.... so how could I refuse?.

What a bunch of memories! It's a step, it's motion, it's a moment in time preserved.
That has to be the one thing that I admire the most in OP carvings.

Where do you buy camo paint in a can?
Same store that Bugs Bunny buys plaid paint in a can?

And no, you never roll your hip waders down until AFTER you cross the cow pasture.

MR Ducks. Great job Soggy, I like how the last pic looks like he has a beard. Wonderful. Bet you get an A+\
If I took the time to fix all my mistakes, I wouldn,t have time to make new ones.

He is such a delight just to look at. your sense of detail, carving, and paint is tough to beat. Kind of late to try and become a teacher pet though, but as you said hard not to do.

Great carving and it comes with good advice to all duck hunters. Love it.
