Going on 30-years ago my wife and I were just entering the city limits of McCaysville, Georgia heading north on Highway GA-5 when we looked up at a nearby telephone pole and spotted a witch sitting on a broomstick stick with the broom appearing to have penetrated the pole. The witch was plastered flat against the pole and it was obvious that a D.U.I. had been committed and said witch was probably also plastered at the time of the encounter. It was the first time that either of us had seen a Halloween decoration quite as funny as this one and we immediately stopped and took pictures. Since that time the witch has apparently gained popularity and can be spotted every year crashing into all sorts of light poles and large trees. My wife and I were discussing Fall decorations a couple of weeks ago and I got the brain fart to attempt to carve a witch in similar distress. I did the carving and painting and Shelley provided the hair from her collection of DMC thread.
